Thursday, June 30 - We were still in Kington with Lisa on this day. She had to work most of the day, so Kale and I took a walk in the morning, and then went home and for the first time since leaving the US and A, had a nice quiet day that consisted of grazing on freshly-picked strawberries and raspberries, drinking tea, doing laundry, updating our blog and napping. It was such a welcomed and relaxing change from our previous few days that were jam-packed with activities.
On the way home from Hay, Lisa pointed out Hergest Court, which is haunted according to the legend. The story behind this haunted property was the inspiration for the Sherlock Holmes film, Hound of the Baskervilles. The estate dates back 700 years, and the original property was built in 1267.

When Lisa returned from work she took us to a small town called Hay. Hay is a very charming small town that sits right on the Wales/England border. There are about 1,500 people that actually live in Hay, but this small town is quite well know throughout the world for books and bookshops. We walked along the Wye River while we were there, and also had a cider at a traditional pub in the city center.
